Big Way Beginners

Beginners (Must have FS1 + 50 Jumps).

intermediate or experienced jumpers who want to practice or support beginners by strengthening groups

Pre-registration required

BWB are the flagship events for Skydive Choreography.

They are a series of scalable events that fast track progression of those with little or no big way experience and allows all other levels to develop skills and push limits.

Groups start at 8-10 way in size.

40+ person lift capacity and pilots able to fly well in formation.

Sufficient/multiple
briefing & debriefing areas.

Access to PC and printer.

Requires organiser and group leader camera slots to be covered.

Big Way Skills camps/events

 

Intermediate and above jumpers

Pre-registration often required

large (including multi-aircraft) formation events focused on skill improvement. These events focus on single point completions and/or multiple point goals.

Single aircraft events possible, multiple aircraft with formation flying capability is advised.

Sufficient briefing & debriefing areas.

Camera and organiser slots need to be covered.

Fun in the skies

Intermediate and above jumpers who want to sharpen up awareness while taking a from traditional coaching techniques.

Pre-registration often required

Fun dives for Including mystery, random, streamers, high movement in facing dives etc.

Can be delivered as a complete event of fun dives or just delivered via occasional jumps at participants request.

Single aircraft required.

Briefing & debriefing area.

Camera and organiser slots need to be covered.

 

 

Competitive big ways

Invitational events for specified jumper level

Pre-commitment required

In these events the Skydive Choreography organisers pitch and lead big way teams for competition events held at different dropzones.

Multiple aircraft desirable

Sufficient briefing/ debriefing areas.

Camera and organiser slots need to be covered.

Experienced event series

Including:

  • The Skydive Choreography Challenge
  • 'Experienced Sequentials'

Often invitational, these events are targeted at experienced and high-experience jumpers.

Pre-commitment required

Series events are viewed as warm up and selection events for the 'Skydive Choreography Challenge'.

Focus is on complex choreographed movement or specific (non-dive pool led) build goals.

Multiple aircraft desirable

Sufficient briefing/ debriefing areas.

Camera and organiser slots need to be covered.

Walk-up

Various experience levels as advertised.

No registration required

Chilled weekend load organsing for people to practice their skills for as many jumps as they choose.

Single aircraft required.

Big Way Skills seminars

All jumpers with an interest in the theory of large formation fly, proven techniques and big way terminology

No registration required

Twelve seminar modules that provide theory on all aspects of large formation skydiving in order to keep the learning happening even when the weather is bad.

Available to all DZs alongside events run by Caroline.

Can be done without props, but best in a quiet room with laptop projection facilities.
